Organisation Details

The Yorkshire Academy of Creative Arts & Dance (YACAD) is a non profit organisation based in Bradford. They offer a range of classes such as dance, drama, music, textiles, cooking and many more. They have a range of free sessions and offer discounted rates on their paid classes for individuals from underprivileged backgrounds.

Project Details

This year the organisation has moved to a new premises that is in need of a small renovation. We are looking to complete the below:

Interior-

Painting the dance studios, support rooms and toilets

Outdoor space-

General clearing & cleaning
Painting wooden structures
Power washing

Number of Volunteers

We are looking to recruit a team of 10-20 volunteers.

On-site support

On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A “Tools Talk” and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day.

Preparation

Volunteers will be undertaking painting and gardening activities and are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing that you will not mind getting paint on. We do offer paint overalls, although these do not guarantee no damage to clothing. Where personal protective equipment is required it will be provided, this includes latex free gloves.

Materials, tools and equipment

Tools and materials will be provided by Participate Projects.
