Project Details
The Friends of St Ives is a group of volunteers who ensure that future developments to St Ives are in keeping with the way the estate was originally designed and to ensure that all users can enjoy its beauty for many generations to come. The St Ives Estate in Bingley offers facilities for families to enjoy the outdoors. They have a children’s play area, fishing, café, woodland walks and sculpture trail.
As we enter Autumn, the site has over 1,000 weekly visitors and needs help with some general upkeep and maintenance. This is typically done by an ageing team of local volunteers. A team of business volunteers would be able to complete the below much quicker.
- clearing lake overflow
- trimming shrubberies
- clearing walkways
Number of Volunteers
We are seeking a team of 5-20 volunteers.
On-site support
On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A tools talk and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day.
Preparation
Volunteers will be undertaking painting and DIY construction activities and are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing. We also ask that you wear sturdy flat sole footwear avoiding any heels or open footwear as well as any clothing you do not mind spoiling with paint. Where personal protective equipment is required it will be provided.
