Organisation Details
Pompey in the Community (PitC) is an award-winning charity that delivers programs focused on education, healthy living, and sports, supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people across the local area. Their commitment to the community is highlighted by the John Jenkins Stadium, a six-year, purpose-built development that can be accessed by up to 13,000 people every week. This vital facility hosts a diverse range of teams, including SEN, Amputee, LGBTQ+, Women’s, and Disability teams, and also operates a Referee Academy to deliver free training for local young people.

Date & Volunteer number
This will be taking place on both dates below:

Day 2 – Tuesday 9th June 2026
We are looking to recruit 15-30 MoneyBarn colleagues per day.
On-site support
On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A tools talk and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day.
Preparation
Volunteers will be undertaking DIY construction, gardening and painting activities and are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing. Volunteers should pay particular attention to footwear wearing tough shoes or boots. Do not wear Crocs or open toe shoes such as sandals or flip flops. This is a relatively low risk challenge and where personal protective equipment is required it will be provided. This will include latex free gloves to protect rings etc when painting. Please be aware if you are painting, you will get this on your clothing and will not wash out. Again we recommend wearing clothing you don’t mind spoiling. If volunteers wish to bring their own gloves they are welcome to do so. This challenge is taking place outdoors and as such the volunteers should be prepared for inclement weather or sunshine.
Materials, tools and equipment
Tools and materials will be provided by Participate Projects & Vanquis Banking Group
