The Life Centre aims to improve the quality of life in Bierley, South Bradford, by creating a welcoming community space. They offer various activities and opportunities to improve physical and mental health. The centre has been working for over 10 years, building relationships and supporting daily life with community programs, activities, services, and signposting to further support. Activities include a playgroup, a warm space, a community market, trips, parent groups, benefit advice, housing and jobs advice.
Project Details
The challenge is to refresh the community throughout my repainting most of the internal spaces. This will include:
- Canteen Hall
- Entrance
- Toilets
- Small Kitchen
- Community Kitchen Store
- Offices
- Activity rooms
Number of volunteers
We are seeking a team of approx. 10-25 volunteers.
On-site support
On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A tools talk and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day. We will also share with you our completed Risk Assessment for your own records, once interest is submitted.
Preparation
Volunteers will be undertaking painting activities and are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing that you will not mind getting paint on. We do offer paint overalls, although these do not guarantee no damage to clothing. Where personal protective equipment is required it will be provided, this includes latex free gloves.
