Kettlesing is a small village school dedicated to providing a high-quality education within a close-knit, friendly setting. The school serves local families by offering a tailored curriculum that emphasises outdoor learning and community involvement. Through its partnership in the RBK Federation, the school shares resources to create enriched opportunities for its pupils, ensuring they develop the social skills and resilience needed to thrive while benefiting from a dedicated, small-school approach.
Project Details
The school is seeking help in repainting worn down areas of the school. This will include:
- Preparing surfaces
- Filling any holes
- Painting walls
- Glossing woodworks
The school has a number of buddy benches they have purchased over the years. These benches have been transformational for children’s social development during play times. They would like to add to this with further two new benches.
Volunteer Numbers and Days
We are able to accommodate up to 20 volunteers on each volunteer day (larger teams can be facilitated upon request). Dates are restricted due to school holidays.
As a result, the below date range applies:
Wednesday 29th July to Friday 28th August
On-site support
On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A tools talk and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day. We will also share with you our completed Risk Assessment for your own records.
Preparation
Volunteers will be undertaking painting activities and basic DIY so are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing that you will not mind getting paint on. We do offer paint overalls, although these do not guarantee no damage to clothing. We also require sensible sturdy footwear, avoiding heels and open toe footwear. Where personal protective equipment is required, it will be provided.
