Project Details

This well used centre has various spaces that are looking tired and dated. Your task will be to repaint these spaces, freshening them up and bringing a new lease of life:

  • Large Hall
  • Wright Room (Activity room)
  • Corridors
  • Jack Lofthouse Room

All the above spaces will follow the same process; Prepare surfaces > First coat (Acrylic Durable Matt) > Second Coat (Acrylic Durable Matt)

Dates and Volunteer Number

This project involved developing multiple spaces. To ensure minimum disruption, we are seeking teams of 10-15 volunteers. Once a date is agreed, the project facilitator will then allocate rooms that volunteers will then take on.

On-site support

On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A tools talk and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day. We will also share with you our completed Risk Assessment for your own records.

Preparation

Volunteers will be undertaking painting activities and are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing that you will not mind getting paint on. We do offer paint overalls, although these do not guarantee no damage to clothing. We also require sensible sturdy footwear, avoiding heels and open toe footwear. Where personal protective equipment is required, it will be provided.
