Organisation Details
Footprints Family Centre supports the Buttershaw community with diverse groups and activities for all ages. They offer high-quality Early Years Childcare in their Nurseries, and create employment and volunteer opportunities, including training and career development. They also partner with local organisations to provide services and assistance, aiming to foster community growth and well-being.
Project Details
Footprints has not been painted in over 20 years and does not match the level of service delivered by the centre. We are now looking to repaint the whole building. Below is a breakdown of what this will entail:
- Preparing surfaces
- Two coats of Acrylic Durable Matt on walls
- Gloss all skirting boards and doors
Date & Volunteer Number
We are looking for teams of 10-15 volunteers. This will need to take place during a school holiday. We welcome a team suggesting a date that would fit in the below date range:
20th July – 1st September 2026
On-site support
On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A “Tools Talk” and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day.

Volunteers will be undertaking painting activities and are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing that you will not mind getting paint on. We do offer paint overalls, although these do not guarantee no damage to clothing. We also require sensible sturdy footwear, avoiding heels and open toe footwear.
