Organisation Details

Autism Bricks is a Community Interest Company that uses pre-loved Lego to engage with children and adults with autism. The company processes and sorts Lego parts, builds kits, and sells them online to provide meaningful work experience for adults who may find it hard to learn valuable work-related skills in a safe and familiar environment.

In addition to their work with adults, Autism Bricks also collaborates with SEN schools, providing LEGO enterprise activities for students. With LEGO, students design and create items that they can sell, working out costings, carrying out market research, and finally selling their products at school fairs.

Project Details

Volunteers who have supported previous will remember installing shelving for their Lego room. Since that visit the shelving has since been used to their amazing Brick Café in Bingley. Your challenge will be to bring this room back to how it was.:

• Installing various shelving, Lego room & Storage Room (images below)
• Sorting/organising LEGO
• Paint Training Room
• Paint Toilets

On-site support

On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A tools talk and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day.

Preparation

Volunteers will be undertaking general ‘Home DIY’ style activities. Volunteers should pay particular attention to footwear wearing sturdy, comfortable footwear. This excluded flip flops, Crocs or any other open footwear. Where personal protective equipment is required, it will be provided.
