Project Details
During your volunteer days you will be involved in clearing, maintaining and building activities*:
•Replace Horse Paddock fencing (≈125m)
•Painting timber and metal fences and railings
•Building a ‘dead hedge’
*activities may be subject to change close to the volunteer date. They will be finalised by Friday 15th May 2026. All updates will be reflected in the Key Documents below.
Volunteer Numbers
We are looking to engage between 10-25 per day.
On-site support
On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A tools talk and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day.
Preparation
Volunteers will be undertaking painting activities and are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing. This is a relatively low risk challenge and where personal protective equipment is required it will be provided. This will include latex free gloves to protect rings etc when painting. Please be, you will get this on your clothing and will not wash out. This is why we recommend wearing clothing you don’t mind spoiling.
Volunteers who will be working externally must wear old and reasonably robust clothing. Volunteers should pay particular attention to footwear wearing tough shoes or boots. Do not wear Crocs or open toe shoes such as sandals or flip flops. Finally, volunteers should prepare for the weather.
